Track
Chuckwalla Valley Raceway
25300 Rice Road
Desert Center, CA 92239
Main Office: (760) 227-3100
CW configuration both Sat & Sun
Time Zone Difference
CA participants won't need to think twice about what time it is, but anyone travelling outside of their home time zone should make special note that the schedule will run on "CA Time" (Ex: there is a 1 hour delta between CA & AZ).
Gate Times & Fees:
The track charges a gate fee for the following. You must stop at the gate to not just pay the fee but also sign their waiver which will get you a wristband showing you did this. If you do not have a CVR wristband, you can not be a driver or a passenger. Gate fees that the track charges (NASA does not charge these fees) are as follows:
NOTE: The gate will be staffed 24x7 Thur-Sun
P.S. We also need everyone to also stop by the Big White Tent on Fri (or Sat morning before the Drivers Meeting) to sign the NASA waiver. If you don't do this, you won't be allowed on track on Sat/Sun.
Paddock & Parking Map
Please adhere to the parking map as shown.
Admin Lunches
On Sat & Sun we will be cooking lunch at Driver Info for our hard working officials and instructors. This food is not intended for the general public.
Sat Night BBQ
On Sat when the track goes cold, come on by Driver Info to have a drink, hot dog, chili and sides and enjoy socializing with your peers and meet some of your fellow drivers and give us an opportunity to get you to know you a little better. "The Missus" also has a game for us to make the experience memorable.
Rules
All participants need to be aware of and follow the NASA Club Codes & Regulations found here (http://nasaproracing.com/rules/ccr.pdf)
All participants need to also be aware of the NASA Arizona region specific Supplemental Rules found here (https://nasaaz.com/nasa-arizona-supplemental-rules/)
“What time do I need to show up?”
This is the #1 question we are asked, especially by the folks new to NASA. See the event schedule (below or attached) for exact times but we recommend 45-60 mins prior to the drivers meeting to allow enough time to find a spot, check in with Driver Info (only recommended for HPDE1 & HPDE-Intro) and get through tech prior to the mandatory Drivers Meeting at 7:30AM.
Tech Inspection
All HPDE cars require an onsite tech inspection prior to being allowed on track (1 tech inspection is good for both days). HPDE participants should print and fill out the "HPDE Tech" Form prior to arriving to tech. Race group & Time Trial competitors will use the “Annual Race Car” Tech forms if they haven’t already done their 2024 annual inspection. Forms can be found @ Forms - NASA (drivenasa.com)
NOTE: Race Tech will be available on Friday starting at noon (located NW of The Big White Tent). Please pre-register for this ahead of time so payment is not needed onsite. $20 for a renewal and $40 if it is a 1st time inspection which includes a Log Book. Time Trial annual (renewal) inspections will also be available and are no cost if you already have a logbook. A "TT Only Logbook" is $5.
Driver Information
Will be located under the "Big White Tent" near the middle of the lower paddock. HPDE1 will need to “check in” with registration. All other groups will receive their credentials from their respective Group Leader directly after the Drivers Meeting.
Rental Helmets
Rental helmets @ $20/day will be available in most sizes and includes a headsock (unless you have your own). They will be sanitized between use/events. Helmet rentals will not be available for passengers until after the event starts to ensure all drivers are covered first.
Drivers Meetings / Downloads
The drivers meeting per the schedule is mandatory for ALL drivers, instructors, officials, or anyone that will participate in any way shape or form during the weekend. All other meetings times and locations will be announced by your respective Group Leader directly after the drivers meeting.
Passengers
Looking to take a passenger along for a ride on track? No problem but there's a few more steps required:
1. Passengers need to be 18 (with photo ID proof of age)
2. Passengers are only allowed in HPDE3, HPDE4 or Time Trial
3. Passengers are required to sign the "Passenger Waiver" (in addition to the general "Gate Waiver")
4. Pay the $20 fee
Transponder Rentals
Need to be checked out at registration
Need to be returned to registration within 30 mins of your final session to avoid a late fee.
Time Attack competitors: If you signed up for TA with a transponder rental you can now get it as early in the morning as you wish and it will include all session times (in HPDE4).
Timing and Scoring
Results will be posted on the sign easels at Driver Info. Please report errors to "Driver Info" ASAP so they can get properly corrected. If you own your own transponder, please ensure your membership profile is configured with your TX # (NOTE: T&S downloads that # prior to the event to ease/automate results).
